Saw some art, ate some things

After walking almost 20,000 steps on Monday, I walked over 20,000 steps yesterday, Tuesday July 22nd. I walked to Bosque de Chapultepec. This park is bigger than Central Park; I did not look up if it is bigger then Golden Gate Park. But it is huge and I didn't get that far into it. It has MANY tourist attractions and so I focused on the things I wanted to see. First, this right inside the entrance:

I went to the Castillo de Chapultepec. It's a castle. I'd like to say I read all the placards and learned things. I didn't. I did look at shiny things though. Honestly, it was very crowded and so hard to stand in front of things long enough to read. And I'm lazy.

My favorite thing was the Museo de Arte Moderno. I always find the good modern art. They also had a great sculpture garden with pieces from all over the world.

Every time I travel I get anxious about eating too much, and then I do the travel and what actually happens is I have large gaps between meals, and I spend a lot of time being hungry. I ate a strange taco in the park and then went to dinner near my hotel at a place called Fonda Fina. I should have taken a picture of my enchiladas, because they were pretty. But this was my dessert, which I took to go.
I did not eat the flowers. I did drip syrup on my skirt, which I then washed in the sink using hand soap.

Determined to eat enough and not walk for hours, I ate a proper breakfast at a highly rated restaurant called Motin. My cappuccino had a little animal in it:

I took an Uber to Coyoacan. Ubers are widely used here. Just to give you an idea, the ride was 25 minutes, about six miles, and the ride cost less than $10 with tip. This area is where I would have gone to the Frida Kahlo museum, if I had not waited too long to get tickets. :( I went to the Museo de Arte Carrillo. It was smaller but also had some interesting pieces:

I then walked down Avenida Francisco Sosa, which is a pretty cobblestone street. I went to the Jardin del Centenario. I tried to go to the market there. Either I didn't find it, or I was walking around in it, it's hard to say.

I ate lunch at a place a friend of a friend recommended:

Those are cauliflower tacos.
Yes I'm still hungry.
I stopped by Inglesia de San Juan Bautista. Churches are so pretty. Too bad I don't believe in any of it (just kidding; I have no regrets about that.)

There is still so much to see. Mexico City is huge so things are pretty spread out. I signed up for a tour to see pyramids outside the city on Friday morning. It's supposed to rain. So I am trying to figure out what to do with my time here, and the best ways to get around. I have not yet taken public transportation, because every time I've looked it up, I've still had to do a lot of walking to and from the stations. I have not yet decided on tomorrow. I haven't even decided on dinner. Stay tuned.
